In the affiliate marketing industry analytics is probably the most important part of marketing as a whole. If there is no one coming to your page then there is no marketing to be done. So importantly you must be able to find out what the best key search words are, where your traffic came from, how are your site users looking at your site. AAll very important to know so you can grow an audience to your site.
Personally I use Woopra, so far for web pages I have completely used Wordpress for my CMS ( content management system).
Woopra has such a great GUI and you can watch your page readers live as they browse your site. Other features include mutliple websites to watch at the same time. Break downs of hourly and daily visitors. Site referals, Todays page views and page visits also what countrys your vistors are from.

Where did you expect to be?

I started to get into affiliate marketing about 6 months ago. I can say that I am not getting rich, but then again there is no fast way to get rich. Building websites and doing marketing is something I like to do and thats the richness of it.Doing what makes you happy. I don’t care if I make a million (honestly I would love to, but its all in time). It’s all about networking, meeting new people and building relationships.
I hoped 6 months ago that I would be able to ease up on work life. But the learning curve has got me where I am today. A new laptop, paying the bills and enjoying life.
So tell me, what have your experiences been with marketing and affiliating?
